"On the Trail of the Tiger" Lecture - Washington, DC

Join Steve Winter, for the‘On the Trail of the Tiger’lecture to learn about his recent travels through India, Sumatra, and Thailand to photograph the dwindling populations of tigers in these countries. Steve will also discuss how Panthera is working across tiger range states to protect the world’s remaining 3,200 tigers through the Tigers Forever program, which aims to increase tiger numbers by 50% in key sites throughout Asia over a ten year period.
Winter's moving images of tigers will appear in the December 2011 issue of National Geographic and will also be on display for his lecture.
The lecture will take place at 7:30pm on November 30th at the National Geographic building in Washington, D.C. A reception, sponsored by Blurb, the online book publisher, will follow the event. Tickets are $20 for the general public and $18 for National Geographic members.

The lecture will be held at the Apple store on New York City’s Upper West Side. During the presentation, Steve will share stories from his career as a wildlife photographer and discuss the art of photographing wildlife, including big cats, and how his work benefits the conservation of these magnificent animals through Panthera’s global conservation projects.
